Martlets Skate to a Tie with DA

The Martlets hosted Deerfield on Wednesday afternoon for a 4:30pm matchup. Just 21 seconds into the game the Martlets took the lead 1-0. Mackenzie Silliman '26 and Olivia Emerson '24 connected on the breakout.  Emerson chipped the puck by the Deerfield defenseman to Bella Zapata '27, who streamed down the ice and shot the puck over the goalkeeper's shoulder.  The game held at 1-0 until there were three minutes left in the second period. While the Martlets were on a power play Deerfield pressured aggressively and were able to find a loose puck in the slot and tie the score at one. The Martlets battled and held onto the tie throughout regulation and overtime. Julia Matyas played strong in net while seeing over 50 shots.
