Martlets Defeat Knights
The Martlet squad completed a three-match sweep over the Scarlet Knights with a rousing 9-1 victory. The top eight on the ladder swept their matches 3-0: Crosby Cutler ‘27, Johnathan Li ‘24, Caden Powers ‘26, Harvey DeMovick ‘24, Mathias Seber ‘26, Zach Li ‘27, Brooks Berthiaume ‘27 and Tyson Mertz ‘27. Of special note amongst those players was Caden Powers, who yielded a mere four points for the entire match. Meanwhile, Derek Waddell ‘27 had his hands full with his opponent as he lost in three, but only by the slimmest of margins for the final two games. The match of the day belonged to Gideon Williams ‘27. Going into the fifth and decisive game, with both teams, coaches and a few miscellaneous fans watching intently, he staved off his opponent’s comeback to bring home an 11-9 victory to clinch the match.
