Martlets Fall to AOF

The Martlets fell in a sluggish and sloppy rematch against Avon Old Farms. We got out to an early lead after forcing a few consecutive turnovers, but then began losing our discipline on defense and allowed Avon to climb back into the contest with open shots from the perimeter. Our shooting struggles continued and we were, once again, outrebounded by our opponent, which hindered our abilities to keep pace with Avon in the second half. Aidan O’Callaghan ’26, Henry Flaton ’25, and Nick Ramsumair ’27 did their best to elevate our intensity on both ends of the floor and Connor Gray ’26 was our most valuable player, scoring 14 points and getting some crucial steals and rebounds. However, as a team we were not able to match Avon’s effort and desire to win today’s game. We will look to execute with more energy and grit in Friday’s rematch against Loomis.
