"Westminster School seeks curious and engaged students who want to grow and learn in a challenging and supportive environment. Students who are motivated to become their best selves both in and out of the classroom, taking advantage of the myriad of opportunities Westminster has to offer."
“At Westminster, we aspire to an extraordinarily ambitious commitment to secondary education, a commitment to nurture the participation of our diverse school community across our entire program — from academics, to studios and labs, gyms, fields and rink, and service to our Hartford community partners. Westminster students are inspired by opportunities to make a difference in all their endeavors.”
"Through gritty trial and error, Westminster students grow into independent learners who are curious, critical thinkers. With the support of faculty, students gain the skills to understand the world around them and enrich their communities at school and beyond."
"The visual and performing arts program at Westminster weaves the community together and nurtures the spirit of the Westminster campus. The arts at Westminster inspire students of all levels of experience from the very beginner to the advanced artist to practice the freedom of creative self-expression. Professional teachers guide students to work through the creative process from inception to the presentation, building a lifelong respect and appreciation for the arts."
Kerry Kendall Head of Visual and Performing Arts Department
"Athletic success at Westminster is measured not only by wins and losses, but through the bonds created between teammates and coaches, individual and team improvement, and personal growth. When students learn how to be competitors and how to cooperate with one another, they are better prepared to be citizens of the global world."
“Driven by a desire to serve young people and conscious of the opportunities for private schools to support a public purpose, Westminster School’s mission statement concludes with the call ‘to commit to a life of service beyond self.’ Westminster’s Hartford Partnership programs aim to deliver on that mission while making a direct impact on people and programs in Hartford.”
Patrick Owens Executive Director, Horizons at Westminster & Hartford Partnerships
“Involvement will be the key to your success at Westminster School. Get involved with the arts, try a sport you've never played, start your own club, run for student council. You will get out of this experience exactly what you put into it. Do these things early in your life — keep seeking more opportunities for growth.”
“Support for Westminster School provides a way to remember the past, shape the present and steward the future of the school.”

Playing our final match of the season, the seniors went out and knew that this was the last time they would be playing at home. Playing a full ladder (1-16) with varsity, we started with the even numbers from the overall ladder, which were the odd numbers for our JV match. Mark Yang ‘26 was particularly efficient in a quick 6,2,5 victory at #3. At #1, David Suit ‘24 dropped his first game 9-11, but rebounded and quickly won his next 3 games 4,4,2. At #5, Robert Yalda ‘24 had a very long match. After taking the first game 11-5, he dropped the next two games. He was not feeling his best, but fought hard to ultimately pull out a 5 game win. At #7, Daniel Edwards ‘24 played a long first two games which were split 11-8 decisions. The third game seemed to go on forever, and Edwards ultimately dropped that game 11-13. The Loomis player took that momentum and went on to a 11-4 win in the fourth game. Henry Naylor ‘25 took his first two games at the #2 spot. After breaking a string on his racket and taking some time to adjust to the new racket, he dropped the next two and found himself in the deciding fifth game. He was able to make some crucial adjustments and show that he was the better player all match, and took the final game in a competitive 11-8 decision. Ryan Sohn ‘27, who was last to get on court due to the length of Daniel’s match, won quickly and efficiently 5,6 and 3. He played great squash in that match. Phil Zhang ‘24, playing at #4, dropped the first game 9-11 before taking the next two 11-7. The fourth was another competitive one, with Zhang making a couple of costly unforced errors to drop another 9-11 contest. He rebounded and played steady and smart in the final game, taking it 11-4. Steven Xie ‘26, Charlie Raymond ‘24, and Connor Scollans ‘26 all played well in routine 3 game victories at the exhibition slots. All the boys enjoyed cookies, brownies and gatorade after the match, and the seniors took home some bags of candy to thank them for their dedication to the sport. We travel to Taft next Wednesday for our final match of the season.
