Martlets Fall to Canterbury

Tonight Westminster traveled to New Milford, CT for a 6:30pm matchup vs. Canterbury.  The first period the Martlets were able to sustain some pressure, but weren’t able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. The second period each team traded rushes and shots on net. Heading into the third period the score was still locked 0-0. Early in the third period Canterbury scored and took the lead 1-0.  With under 5 minutes left in the game Canterbury scored their second goal when a shot from the point was tipped into the top corner of the net. Down 2-0, with time running out, the Martlets cut the lead in half with a goal from Liv Emerson ‘24.  With under two minutes the Martlets pulled their goalie and added a 6th skater in an effort to tie the game. Unfortunately, a blocked shot led to Canterbury putting in their third goal and sealing the win 3-1.  The Martlets are back on the road Monday vs. Frederick Gunn.
