Martlets Win on the Road

Tonight the Martlets traveled to Washington, CT for a Monday night matchup vs. Frederick Gunn. The Martlets got off to a slow start and Gunn took advantage, scoring their first goal just a minute into play.  In the second period the Martlets found themselves in the penalty box and Gunn was able to add to their lead with a power play goal.  Halfway through the game, down by two, the Martlets needed to find a way back. With just under 5 minutes left in the second Olivia Gordon ‘24 started the comeback with a power play goal. Three minutes later Adrienne Hall ‘25 passed to Talia Ondy ‘25 in front of the net and Ondy tied the game at 2.  Heading into the third period the Martlets had momentum and took the lead as Gordon tallied her second of the night.  With the score 3-2 Gunn pulled their goalie in an attempt to tie the game, but with under 10 seconds left in the game Gordon scored her third goal to seal the Martlets 4-2 win. The team is back at it Wednesday with a home game against Taft.
