Martlets Fall to Berkshire

Though down five players, the mighty Martlets put up a good fight against the Berkshire Bears. Virginia Whiting ‘26, playing at number 3 on the ladder, stated that this was the most challenging match that she had ever played and she swept the match in three games. She felt that she and her opponent were evenly matched and just had different strengths. It was exciting to see her walk off the court with such a sense of accomplishment. Though Marlee Monroe ‘27 couldn’t pull out the win, she was very well matched and took her opponent to a fifth game. Her greatest strength is leaving everything on the court and not letting her opponent win an easy point even on the match point. Using her rails well and placing many shots just inches about the tin helped Caroline Breslav ‘26 win her match. Clara Covill ‘26 has also shown quite a bit of improvement in executing her rails, which led to some excellent rallies in her match. She was able to clinch the win in four games. After the long weekend we will prepare for our final two matches of the season.
