Martlets Fall to Choate

This afternoon the Martlets traveled to Wallingford, CT for a Founders League match-up against the Wild Boars of Choate.  Just minutes into the game Choate found the back of the net off of a rebound.   Throughout the first and second period the game was evenly matched despite Westminster playing in a one goal deficit. Early in the third Choate was able to finish another rebound in front of the net to put the score 2-0.  The Martlets started to turn up the pace of play and with nine minutes left in the third scored to make the game 2-1. Bella Zapata registered the goal with the assist coming from Olivia Gordon.  The Martlets had their chances throughout the remaining minutes of the game including a 6v5 opportunity. The final score was 3-1 with Choate scoring an empty-net goal in the last minute of play.
