Martlets Down Bearcats

The Martlets were back in Jackson Rink this afternoon for a matchup against Hotchkiss. Westminster took advantage of an early power play and scored just two minutes into the game when Mana Shida put in a rebound from a shot by Talia Ondy. With six minutes left in the first period, Alyssa Jiminez notched the Martlets second goal of the game to put the score at 2-0. Talia Ondy wrapped the puck around the net and passed to Adrienne Hall. Hall shot the puck and Alyssa found the rebound and buried it into the back of the net.

Despite killing off eight different penalties between the first and second period, Westminster held onto the 2-0 lead to start the third. The Martlets let up one goal while on the penalty kill just a few minutes into the third.  Captain Alex Whalen increased the lead back to two goals with a slap shot from the point. The score held at 3-1 throughout the remainder of the third. Martlets are back at home versus Williston on Wednesday.
