Martlets Fall to Choate

This was a tough one. The Choate contingent was solid from top to bottom, skilled and disciplined. Jonathan Li ‘24, Harvey DeMovick ‘24, Mathias Seber ‘26, Daniel Frid ‘27, and Derek Waddell ‘27 each managed to win one game against their respective opponents, a moral victory of sorts. Meanwhile, Crosby Cutler ‘27, Chip Genung ‘25, Brooks Berthiaume ‘27, Gideon Williams ‘27 and Ethan McQueeney ‘27 all played valiantly from the first point to the last, but fell short in each game. This match was an excellent learning opportunity for the boys; they now understand where their weaknesses lie, and what they need to work on in order to improve. For Frid and others, it’s digging the ball out of the back corners, while for Berthiaume and others it’s returning hard serves. With six matches remaining, there’s ample time to work.
