Martlets Defeat AOF

The Martlets got back on the winning track with a resounding victory over the Winged Beavers of Avon. This match was a complete reversal from the previous one, with Westminster winning every match and only losing a total of two games. Crosby Cutler ‘27 and Harvey DeMovick ‘24 needed four games to defeat their respective opponents, with Cutler getting off to a slow start and then reeling off three straight wins, while DeMovick experienced a slight letdown in the third frame and then clinched his match with an exciting 13-11 victory. Gideon Williams ‘27, Tyson Mertz ‘27, Brooks Berthiaume ‘27, Chip Genung ‘25, Daniel Frid ‘27 and Mathias Seber ‘26 swept their respective matches by controlling the T and limiting their unforced errors. Will Henry ‘26, returning from a recent illness, was relentless in dominating his match and yielding a mere eight points total. Zach Li ‘27 just keeps getting better and better, always hitting the right shot, and keeping his opponent off guard in a seemingly effortless display of high quality squash. The match of the day belonged to Derek Waddell ‘27, who’s only played competitively for a few weeks now, and notched his first Westminster victory. It won’t be his last.
