Martlets Fall to DA

The Martlets were back in action Wednesday evening for their second game in three days. Deerfield has had a very good season thus far and was ready to play when the puck dropped. The Martlets, despite a very different atmosphere from Monday, were also ready to play and carried the play for the first 18 minutes of play. Despite some good opportunities, the Martlets could not get one past the DA netminder. Both teams stepped up their performance in the second period and DA capitalized on a few broken plays in the Martlet end to take a 2-0 lead. They carried that lead into the 3rd but the Black and Gold kept pushing and eventually cut the lead to 1 off a nice goal by George McCaffrey '25. With the goalie pulled for the final 2 minutes of play the Martlets had a flurry of chances but could not find the equalizer. Matteo De Luca '24 was great in net for the Martlets. The team is looking forward to hosting league opponent Kent on Saturday.
