Martlet Fall to Miss Porter's

After having lost our first match of the season to Miss Porter’s in December, we were hoping to capture a win in our rematch. Unfortunately, we couldn’t pull through. That being said, that doesn’t mean that our squad didn’t show a great deal of growth in just a few weeks since their first match. For the girls on the lower half of the ladder there is no question that they are making more contact with the ball and have more success with serves. We will continue to work on hitting and then moving to the T. Congratulations to Sofiia Kondratiuk ‘26 who lost her first game but then won three in a row to secure the win! As her teammate, Caroline Breslav ‘26 said, it is very impressive that she does not let her opponent or a score get to her head. Sofiia sees each serve as a new opportunity and makes some incredible comebacks because of it. It is also important to recognize Marlee Spiro ‘27 who gives her all through the very last point of every match. There is no question that once she becomes more consistent with her serve, she will be nearly unstoppable. Clara Covill ‘27 also put up a good fight taking her opponent to a fifth game. Fortunately, we will meet the Daisies once more and can try to bring home the win when we play them away at our last match on February, 14.
