Martlets Defeat Salisbury

The Martlets hosted the Scarlet Knights from Salisbury, and came away with a satisfying 6-2 victory. Playing up at #8, Brooks Berthiaume ‘27 had his hands full with his opponent’s tricky serves, but gradually figured things out and only lost by two points in the final game. Daniel Frid ‘27 played a gritty match which went the full five games, eventually succumbing by the slimmest of margins in the final frame. Meanwhile, Crosby Cutler ‘27, playing at the top of the ladder for the first time this season, proved he deserved to be there with a convincing 3– 0 victory. Likewise, Jonathan Li ‘24, playing his usual brand of steady and smart squash, won in straight sets. Chip Genung ‘25 continued his improved play, limiting his opponent to a mere six points in three games, quite an impressive feat. At #5, Zach Li ‘27 remained undefeated for the season with his 3–0 win. Harvey DeMovick ‘24. playing higher up in the ladder, came out on top of a five game barnburner against a feisty, relentless opponent. The match of the day belonged to Tyson Mertz’ 27 who won his match in three straight, but was forced to go to overtime in two of the three games.
