Martlets Fall to Canterbury

After a leak in the new gym displaced us to Pettee Gym against Choate, we were back in our gym, eager to defend against it visiting Canterbury. In many ways, this was one of the best games we’ve played all year against a disciplined and skilled team. Jayden Reid ‘25 dominated the paint, blocking four shots on a single possession, while Austin Black ‘26 fought hard on the boards while having one of his best offensive games so far this season (11 pts), including draining a long jumper from the key. Wills Lown ‘26 found a rhythm from the corner, stroking several key momentum threes in the second half, bolstering the team’s spirits and putting up thirteen points overall. Still, Canterbury got to the line way more than we did, caused turnovers, and fought in the paint to get too many second-chance buckets. That was enough to generate their margin of victory. Buoyed by our home crowd, our team demonstrated their resilience and competitive spirit. Although we came up short, we look to bounce back against Marianapolis Preparatory School in our final home game this week.
