Martlets Fall to Berkshire

In our first game back from break, the Martlets struggled to find the rhythm, energy, and focus that had capped off our 2023 campaign. From the tip, we got out to a slow start and Berkshire capitalized on several fast break opportunities and dominated on the boards, converting several second chance opportunities. On both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor we found ourselves out of position and made life too easy for our opponents, leading to a halftime deficit of 28-8. In the second half, some Martlets were up for the challenge of elevating our energy and effort. Jeff Shao ’26 and Hudson Black ’27 made the necessary adjustments to open up space against the Berkshire zone and Bennett Varao, once again, proved his grit in the post. We also had solid contributions from Aidan O'Callaghan ’26 and Enoch Olaosebikan ’27 who worked hard all game long. The Martlets will look to follow their lead and get back on track when we head to Canterbury on Saturday.
