Martlets Tie K-O

The Martlets faced their toughest challenge of the young season in taking on a formidable Kingswood-Oxford JV squad on their home turf. Will Henry ‘26 and Crosby Cutler ‘27 had their hands full at the top of the ladder, each squaring off against a skilled and accomplished opponent. Henry had a moral victory of sorts, getting seven points in game 2. Likewise, Harvey DeMovick ‘24 and Daniel Frid ‘27, playing at #5 and #7 respectively, battled against worthy opponents. Although they each lost in four, the games were all close and a few points here and there would have changed the complexion of the match. Jonathan Li ‘24 found himself down in his match, losing a hard fought second game 12-10. Unfortunately, his opponent was forced to retire as a result of a knee injury. Caden Powers ‘26 displayed his usual brand of smart and steady squash in winning his match in straight sets. The matches of the day belonged to Mathias Seber ‘26 and Zach Li ‘27, both winning their fifth and decisive game in thrilling fashion. Li was spurred on by the inspirational words from teammate Frid, And although he was down two games to none, Seber never lost hope, confidently predicting his victory going into the final game and then following through on that prognostication. .
