The boys came back from winter vacation ready to go, and came out strong on the restart with a solid 6-1 effort against Berkshire. The match was overall closer than the scores, with many of the boys requiring 4 games to finish their matches. The first round of matches saw the even numbers playing first. Nick Dowling ‘24, Phil Zhang ‘24, and Daniel Edwards ‘24 all played very competitive matches at numbers 2,4 and 6 respectively. Dowling split the first two games before dropping the third game 10-12, and ran out of steam in the 4th game. Zhang won a very competitive first game 14-12, before continuing the momentum to win the final two games 11-6 and 11-9. At #6, Edwards also split the first two games before stepping up his game to win the final two games 11-6, 11-3. As the first round was coming to a close, Charlie Raymond ‘24 won quickly and efficiently at #7, and dropped a total of 9 points throughout his match.
