Martlets Fall to Nobles

For the second game of the day, Westminster took on the host team Nobles. The energy was high despite both teams already playing one game today. Part way through the first period Nobles took the lead 1-0.  In the second period the Martlets capitalized on a power play when Alyssa Jiminez battled to put in a loose puck in front.  Before the end of the second, Nobles was able to take the lead for the second time. Going into the third period, Westminster was trailing but would not give up. Just over a minute into the third, Talia Ondy drove down the ice with the puck and was able to slide one past the Nobles netminder to tie the score at 2. For the majority of the third period Westminster was able to hold on as Nobles peppered Martlet goalie Julia Matyas.  Unfortunately, the Martlets fell just short when Nobles took the lead with 28 seconds left in the game.  Matyas finished the day with over 60 saves.
