Martlets Finish Flood-Marr with Tie

In their final game of the tournament, the Martlets faced off against Andover. With the early start, it was clear that both teams were a little foggy at the start. The Martlets carried the play for the first few shifts of the game and generated some quality chances that were turned away by the Andover netminder. Andover got on the board first off a fluky shot that caught Matteo De Luca '24 by surprise. Just a few minutes later Andover capitalized again off a broken play around the blue line that resulted in a point shot that ricocheted off a few players before beating De Luca. The Martlets, undeterred by the scoreboard, kept pushing and Brian Judge '24 eventually got the Black and Gold on the board and cut the Andover lead to 1. Andover took the 2-goal lead back in the second but towards the end of the second frame, Eric Elbery '24 followed up the play and found the back of the net to cut the lead back to 1. Down 3-2 with just 15 minutes left to play, the Martlets came out firing in the final period. Quinn Pine '25, with just about 8 minutes to play, banged home a rebound to tie the game at 3. Despite some quality chances toward the end of the period, the Martlets could not grab the victory.
