Martlets Fall to Milton

The Martlets faced off against the Mustangs from Milton on the second day of action at the Flood Marr. Despite both teams playing in their third game in less than 24 hours, they came out with plenty of jump to start the game. The Martlets struck first off a beautiful shot from Derek Rhodes '25 to give the Black and Gold the 1-0 lead. The Mustangs came roaring back in the subsequent shifts but Matteo De Luca '24 turned away bid after bid to keep the host school off the board. Milton kept pressing in the second and eventually wore down the Martlets with a long zone time shift, followed by a poor change, to tie the game at 1. Going into the final frame, fatigue was starting to set in on both sides. Despite some high-quality looks, the Martlets could not find the back of the net. Instead, the Mustangs took the lead and eventually added an empty net goal to seal the 3-1 lead. Not the outcome the Black and Gold hoped for, but a solid effort.
