Martlets Defeat NMH

The Girls JV Hockey squad traveled even further north on Saturday to face off against the Hoggers of NMH. After a few minutes of balanced play with movement up and down the rink, The Martlets finally netted one on Lucy Wainwright's ('25) tenacious efforts right in front of the NMH goalie. From there, it was "score by committee" - no hat tricks this time. Captain Cassie Goundrey ('24) followed her linemate with another persistent effort to net the second tally of the period. Forwards who added to the lights on the board included Chase Carter ('26), Adela McKinney ('25), Helen Kennedy ('27), and Paige Herlihy ('25). The defense contributed with goals by Claire Dowling ('27) and Abbey Cirelli ('27). Again, Tilly Lynch ('25) protected things in goal by stopping another 10 shots and carrying a shutout deep into the 3rd period. The game provided an opportunity for all 18 skaters to see significant action. The winter break will provide an opportunity for the team to rest and reflect before the return to the ice for tough competition ahead.
