Martlets Fall to Deerfield
The Martlets traveled to Deerfield this afternoon in search of our first regular-season win. With some gritty inspiration from watching The Dark Knight on the bus, the team came out swinging in the early minutes. We maintained good energy for most of the game despite going down halfway through the first period. Our defense was solid throughout, and our offense got some good looks out of our sets. But we did not shoot very well from the field while Deerfield shot the lights out from three and mid-range. We had good offensive opportunities but needed to convert more of them. Tomorrow, our team will have to get up early on a Sunday to travel to a showcase game against The Hill School outside of Boston.
