Martlets Fall to T-P

No way to sugarcoat it. Tonight’s loss to Trinity-Pawling hurt. We competed well in the first half. Defensively we held pretty strong, allowing only 30 pts. Offense was not always clean, but we got open looks when we ran our sets effectively. It was a scrappy first half, putting both teams in the bonus because of team fouls. Coming out of half time, the Martlets were only down 2 pts, thanks in large part to the offensive and defensive efforts of Jayden Reid ‘25 (13 pts). Unfortunately, we came apart in the second half. Trinity-Pawling made some good defensive adjustments, making it difficult for us to put points on the board. And the game became a little too emotional, resulting in three of our starters fouling out and another being ejected after a second technical foul. Combined with other factors like too many missed free throws, we struggled to find the right gear to mount a comeback. We will travel to Deerfield on Saturday for our next game.
