Martlets Defeat T-P

The Martlets welcomed the Pride of Trinity-Pawling into the close confines of Pettee for our first home game of the season. While the team fell into a quick deficit and early foul trouble, the Martlets rebounding and man defense helped turn the tide, using our grit to surmount a lead into the locker room at halftime. Offensively, Jinn Lee ‘24 led the way with a flurry of drives to find the free throw line in the first half and two second half three pointers for a combined 22 points. Hugh Olson ‘25 led the way with eight rebounds crashing the glass with Michael Basich ‘26 and Aidan Walsh ‘24 helping the Martlets control the tempo of the game. Ethan Hernandez ‘27 and Finn Cathey ‘26 injected some energy off the bench in key moments. While he picked up three early fouls, the perpetually stoic Max Williams ‘25 handled late pressure from The Pride in the second half while draining a clutch three pointer late to extend the Martlet lead. Rhys Marschke ‘24 provided senior leadership in shepherding the offense into our sets and sticking close defensively to an opposing sharpshooter on The Pride. Liam Murray ‘26 also scored his first basket of the season. The Martlets continue to compete, play with physicality, and look to travel with some recent momentum under our wings up I-91 to Historic Deerfield this Saturday.
