Martlets Drop Opener to K-O

The Martlets traveled to Kingswood Oxford to take on the Wyverns. We got off to a strong start, taking an early lead following catch-and-shoot buckets from Wills Lown ‘24. But a handful of turnovers turned the game’s momentum in the other direction. The team was forced back on our heels and never quite recovered. Despite the loss, there were still positives. Chris Powell ‘26 and Jermaine James ‘24 led the offense with 17 and 26 points, respectively. Although there were more defensive mistakes in this game than against St. Luke's, excellent individual defense still shined through with blocks from Austin Black, ‘24 Jayden Reid, 25’ and Declan Cody ‘25. Overall, this loss is a learning experience for our team. They fought hard, but we know what needs to improve going forward. We’ll look to bounce back against Loomis.
