Martlets Fall to Kent

After the long ride west to Kent the Martlets just could not get the engines warmed up for a 90 mins match. The game got off to a bumpy start for Westminster as they lost track of men on the defensive side of the ball and let Kent get some outstanding chances. Kent would score off a free kick that got up and over the wall and dropped into the near corner. Kent’s top player was subbed off late in the first half which gave the Martlets the opportunity to score, but only one to head into halftime tied 1-1. The goal would be the result of some strong play inside the box by Drew Knight ‘24 who created a second chance ball for Jackson Raymond ‘24 who would butcher it home. The second half saw Westminster with some early chances but some sloppy play late and card trouble having to play down a man gave Kent many opportunities for the victory. The team is back at it tomorrow and Friday to get ready for the last game of the year on Saturday at home against a strong Brunswick team.
