Martlets Draw with Hotchkiss

Westminster School hosted the Bearcats on a strange weather day. While the morning started with fairly cold and seasonal temperatures, during warm-ups the sun came out and the boys started to shed layers in preparation for the tilt. Hotchkiss came in with a record similar to our, just about .500 on the season. The teams were evenly matched and competed throughout. The Bearcats struck first in the 22’, but Lane Gallgher ‘25 evened the score four minutes later. He also hit (another!) post in the 29’. Early in the second half the Bearcats took the lead again, but just a minute later in the 38’ Brenden Gilooly ‘26 stole the ball from a defender, went 1:1 with the goalies and scored an unassisted goal to even the match again. 3BS displayed good defense led by Kai Appleton ‘24 and Owen McNally ‘26 in the middle. George Baird played well in goal until he was hurt during the second half making a save; Gilooly stepped into the goal and finished the game with several decisive plays and saves. Our last two games are on the road: Saturday at Wilbraham & Monson and Wednesday at Kent.
