“At Westminster, we aspire to an extraordinarily ambitious commitment to secondary education, a commitment to nurture the participation of our diverse school community across our entire program — from academics, to studios and labs, gyms, fields and rink, and service to our Hartford community partners. Westminster students are inspired by opportunities to make a difference in all their endeavors.”
"Through gritty trial and error, Westminster students grow into independent learners who are curious, critical thinkers. With the support of faculty, students gain the skills to understand the world around them and enrich their communities at school and beyond."
"The visual and performing arts program at Westminster weaves the community together and nurtures the spirit of the Westminster campus. The arts at Westminster inspire students of all levels of experience from the very beginner to the advanced artist to practice the freedom of creative self-expression. Professional teachers guide students to work through the creative process from inception to the presentation, building a lifelong respect and appreciation for the arts."
Kerry Kendall Head of Visual and Performing Arts Department
"Athletic success at Westminster is measured not only by wins and losses, but through the bonds created between teammates and coaches, individual and team improvement, and personal growth. When students learn how to be competitors and how to cooperate with one another, they are better prepared to be citizens of the global world."
“Driven by a desire to serve young people and conscious of the opportunities for private schools to support a public purpose, Westminster School’s mission statement concludes with the call ‘to commit to a life of service beyond self.’ Westminster’s Hartford Partnership programs aim to deliver on that mission while making a direct impact on people and programs in Hartford.”
Patrick Owens Executive Director, Horizons at Westminster & Hartford Partnerships
“Involvement will be the key to your success at Westminster School. Get involved with the arts, try a sport you've never played, start your own club, run for student council. You will get out of this experience exactly what you put into it. Do these things early in your life — keep seeking more opportunities for growth.”
“Support for Westminster School provides a way to remember the past, shape the present and steward the future of the school.”

Martlets Defeat Berkshire
This Saturday, the Westminster Girls Varsity soccer team celebrated and thanked their Sixth Formers with a special senior day against the Bears of Berkshire. Before taking the field, the Martlets honored their nine seniors of the class of 2024 who have given so much to the program over the years: Jillian Gregorski, Haley Cramer, Blessing Kieh, Kaitlyn McQueeney, Elysse Cumberland, Catherine Graves, Sarah Lenox, Mia Davis, and Ella Ungerman. With high energy and excitement for their seniors, the Martlets came ready to play. Just within five minutes, the Martlets were able to score their first goal of the game. Outside midfielder, Lenox, played a beautiful ball over the top of the bear backline for McQueeney to run onto. After collecting it at the top of the box, McQueeney took a few dribbles forward, beat her defender with speed, and sliced the ball into the back of the net. Shortly after, Graves received the ball from Cramer and dribbled down the left sideline unobstructed. Graves then played a wonderful high arching ball into the box, and after just clearing the reach from a Berkshire defender, it fell to Cumberland who knocked it down and rifled it off the volley to blast it by the keeper. Kieh scored the third goal of the game off of an assist from Cramer. Wasting no time after claiming a Berkshire turnover at midfield, Cramer sent a ball to Kieh who timed her run perfectly, dribbled, and placed her shot at the far post. The final goal of the half came from defender Izzie Leone ‘27. After receiving the ball from Mia Fluckiger ‘26, Leone took one touch and ripped a far shot from outside the 18 that sailed over the hands of the Berkshire keeper. The second half saw two more goals from two seniors, Gregorski and Davis. After receiving the ball from Graves on the left side of the field, Cramer sailed a ball into the 18 for Gregorski to finish one-touch into the Berkshire net. Davis, who is normally an outside back, moved up to forward for the later segment of the half in an attempt to score her first goal of the season. After multiple close tries, she finally found the back of the net! After a Berkshire goal kick, Cramer found the ball at midfield and played a quick through ball into the box to Gregorski who was one-on-one with the keeper. Instead of taking a shot on goal herself, Gregorski laid the ball back to Davis. With sheer grit, Davis muscled through and pushed the ball into the goal with a great follow-through. The score remained 6-0 until the final whistle, and the rest of the Martlet squad rushed the field to congratulate their seniors. The Martlets look forward to their next game this upcoming Monday against Kingswood Oxford. The game will be played away at 3 PM.
