Martlets Shutout by Loomis

A depleted JV Boys team fell to a deep Loomis Chaffee squad this afternoon. The team spent much of the game under pressure and the defense endured a busy afternoon. Caden Powers ‘26 showed composure and tactical flexibility on a difficult afternoon. Caden grew into the game and kept playing positive soccer. He is a good student of the game, and always eager to help his teammates. The Westy boys kept trying to get a footing in the game, with both Connor Scollans ‘26 and Mason Abbate ‘24 breaking through the Loomis backline, but the team could not find a way past the keeper. Danny Maher ‘26 communicated and commanded his area well. Danny has been working hard in practice on his distribution and paired it with some good decisions today. Mark Yang ‘26 continues to drive the team forward with his positive play, and was always looking to make something happen. He has continued to be the creative source in the midfield, and always looks to help his team with his work off the ball. Canterbury visit on Saturday, and the team will look to bounce back after today.
