Martlets Defeat Williston

The Field Hockey martlets secured our second win of the season! The first two goals were swift, providing a much-needed morale boost during the opening quarter. Just two minutes into the game, Sofiia Kondratiuk ’26 orchestrated a direct and efficient pass to Parker Perillo ’26, who skillfully brought the ball within shooting range and netted our first goal. The second goal came later in the quarter, following the opposing team's point. Under tremendous pressure, Frances Trafelet ’26 exhibited remarkable courage, persistently driving the ball upfield against a formidable line of aggressive defenders, ultimately securing our advantage as we entered the next quarter.
Our goalie, Harriet Leventhal ’26, played a pivotal role as she improved her ability to kick the ball with power. This move enables our reliable and fierce defense team of Gabby de la Fe ’26, always there to intercept the ball, Claire Dowling ’27, persistently hitting beautiful passes, and Reagan Riley ’27, a swift player with intuition, to pass the ball upfield. As we entered the final quarter, the score was tied 2-2. Abigail Graham ’27 maintained her high energy and determination as she raced across the field, creating a golden opportunity for Virginia Whiting ’26 to score midway through the quarter.
This victory was not easy, and the entire team truly came together in this high-energy and high-stakes game.
