Martlets Fall to Miss Porter's
The Girls’ Cross-Country team had a phenomenal meet against Miss Porter's this past Saturday. Sophia Lazor ‘27 battled it out at the finish to score first place for the Martlets, chasing down a Miss Porter’s runner in the final stretch. Lazor ran a great time of 21:50. Madison Khuu ‘24 also had a stand-out performance, breaking the 24 minute mark for the first time and running a 23:53. Fiona Lawson ‘26 followed close behind her, running a personal best time by over two minutes. Lawson ran a beautiful time of 24:30, a result of her hard work and determination all season.
Other finishers for the Martlets were Anna Klapman ‘26 (27:40), Avery Gray (27:41), Grace Tyler ‘24 (27:49), Elise Park ‘25 (28:04), Ava O’Connell (31:44) and Sunshine Li ‘26 (31:44). Notably, Tyler ran a season best time by two minutes and Cheng also ran a season best time.
Overall, the Girls’ team scored four personal best times during this meet. It has been an incredible privilege to watch each girl continuously improve during the season through their passion, support of one another, grit, and talent. Our next meet will be the Founder’s Championship where some fast running is expected!
