Martlets Shutout K-O

Westminster made the short drive to West Hartford to take on the Kingswood Oxford Wyverns. The Martlets struggled to find their usual pace in the first half, but took a 2-0 lead into halftime thanks to goals by Caroline Justicz ’26 and Gigi Filippetti ’26. Westminster would push the pace in the third quarter, scoring three more times off the sticks of Lily Vincent ’25, Pippa Jiranek ’26, and Talia Ondy ’25. Olivia Emerson closed out the scoring in the final fifteen minutes, making it six goals from six different players. The goals by Filippetti and Jiranek were the first of their Westminster careers. Filippetti also added an assist and Ondy added two helpers of her own. Cassie Goundrey was in the cage for the first three quarters of the game before Hannah Maltby came in for the final frame, making two saves to preserve the shutout. Every Martlet was able to contribute to this win making it a full. A big thank you to the Crowther family for hosting the team for dinner on the way home! Westminster returns to action at home on Wednesday against Sacred Heart.
