Martlets Defeat Salisbury

What an exciting game for Parents & Family Weekend. Fans were treated to a match of two halves, each dominated by one of the teams. Salisbury opened the scoring early (2nd minute) after some overly cautious defensive play by the Martlets. We quickly regrouped with goals by Jayden Lee ‘25 (assisted by Jake Pleau ‘26) and Lane Gallagher ‘25 (assisted by Lee) in the 10th and 15th minutes, respectively. In the 26th minutes Gallagher notched his second of the game on a nice through-ball from Brenden Gilooly ‘26. Just before halftime, Pleau scored the prettiest goal of the season on a running header off a corner kick from Gallagher; even the officials commented on the play! Not sure what the Salisbury coaches said at halftime, but they came out hard in the second half and scored 3 unanswered goals (39’, 44’, and 45’) to knot the match at 4. Our Martlets regrouped and late in regulation Gallagher hit the hat trick to put our boys ahead. Salisbury wasn’t done trying, though, and hit a post just before the final whistle. Off to Deerfield on Wednesday!
