Martlets Shutout T-P

The JV boys put in some feats of individual heroism to beat TP on the new turf. Kimi Weng ‘24 scored the only goal of the game with a ludicrous free kick taken from just inside the halfway line. The Martlets struggled in adapting to the different surface and suffered an endless stream of turnovers with wayward passing. Daniel Edwards ‘24 enjoyed several important moments in stifling the TP attack. With only the keeper to beat, the TP strikers were undone by a surprise tracking sprint from Daniel to block their efforts. Daniel seemed to enjoy the turf with his long strides carrying the ball forward dangerously. Teddy Russell ‘26 had the difficult task of leading the line this afternoon, but did so with his resilient energy dialed up to eleven. Teddy fought hard for any ball in his third, and worked well to get a shot off while winning a penalty. The team will practice penalty taking tomorrow at practice. Both teams threatened on the breaks, but the Westminster boys came out on top through some dogged defensive work and a special moment from Kimi.
