The Girls’ Cross Country team had a phenomenal meet against Suffield and Berkshire this Saturday. The course at Berkshire was a difficult one, with multiple uphills and downhills on a loop, but the girls’ raced with incredible grit and heart through the course. Sophia Lazor ‘27 won the race by over one minute in a time of 23:09. Madison Khuu ’24 followed behind her, scoring second for the Martlets in a season best time of 24:15. Fiona Lawson ‘26 claimed 5th for the Martlets (26:36) and was followed by AJ Jimenez who ran a personal best time by over two minutes (26:43). Other finishers for the Martlets were Elise Park ‘25 (28:43) and Carolyn Cheng ‘24 (29:22).

Overall, the girls’ team accomplished four season best times on a very difficult course. Further highlights of the meet included watching the Girls’ support each other during and after the race. Fiona Lawson and AJ Jimenez demonstrated beautiful sportsmanship with each other as they pushed each other up the difficult hills of the course and encouraged each other throughout the race. A fantastic day of running for the Girls’ team!
