Martlets Fall to DA

The JV Boys delivered an excellent first half to stay level with Deerfield at 1-1, with Mark Yang ‘26 the scorer of an outstanding individual effort. Mark put in a Herculean effort throughout the afternoon, and often found himself in the thick of the action. Mark has added a willingness to run the hard yards to his game, and pairs this relentless work ethic with intelligence and skill. I must have said the wrong thing at halftime because the game got away from us. The Westminster boys gave up too much time and space in dangerous positions and were punished for it. The team work rate stayed high, and they kept trying to play good soccer. The scoreline does not tell the full story of the game, and their first half was truly the best of the season. Dylan Ness ‘26 must have inspired Mark’s work rate with his own. Dylan is a peerless servant of the team, always providing the right solution to the problem up and down the field. Danny Maher ‘26 showed good reactions and smothered the danger out of any loose ball in his box. He was brave in challenging in and around the box, and his distribution showed a marked improvement this afternoon. Salisbury will be good opponents on Saturday if the team can repeat all the great aspects of today’s game.
