Martlets Defeat W&M

The Westminster boys traveled up to Wilbraham & Monson on Saturday fresh off their win on Wednesday. Battling in the 4 lane pool, the Martlets stuck to the plan and were rewarded with their second win of the season. Throughout the game, the boys never gave up the lead, scoring 4 early goals before Wilbraham scored their first, thanks to the tight defense the boys played. The lead expanded to 20-10 in the 4th, and while Wilbraham fought back with some late scoring, it was not enough to overcome the Martlets, with a final score of 21-14. Trent Jones 25’ played solid defense, preventing cherry-picked goals and providing an out for our offense as we moved the ball around to open the net and get clean goals, and Hudson Black, 27’ did to close out the first half. The growth of the team was on full display, and the potential for continued success has the boys excited for next week.
