Martlets Race Well with Williston

The Girls’ Cross-Country team battled it out in the heat on Wednesday to finish some fantastic races. Sophia Lazor ‘27 won the meet by over one minute in a phenomenal time of 23:14. Madison Khuu ‘24 scored fifth for the girls in a time of 25:50. Following Madison, three Westminster girls’ claimed ninth, tenth, and eleventh place. These girls were - AJ Jimenez ‘24 (28:53), Sunshine Li ‘26 (29:20), and Anna Klapman ‘26 (29:25). Notably, this race was Jimenez’s first ever 5k. This performance was truly exceptional. Other finishes for the Westminster Girls’ were Caolyn Cheng ‘24 (30:13), Elise Park (30:38), Grace Li ‘26 (32:00), Ava O’Connell ‘26 (33:13), Avery Gray ‘26 (33:16), Fiona Lawson ‘26 (33:37), Sabrina Yang ‘26 (36:41), and Grace Tyler ‘24 (33:41). 

The heat on Wednesday truly made for some difficult running conditions. The Westminster Girls’ raced with incredible perseverance and dedication. Further, each girl showed tremendous team spirit and effort in their support of other runners at the finish line and cheering on their teammates as they completed the race. Well done to all!
