Martlets Defeat Miss Porter's

In a thrilling JV field hockey matchup, the Martlets embarked on a memorable visit to Miss Porter’s school. The game kicked off with an explosive start as Caroline Callen '26 found the back of the net early in the first half, setting the tone for an exciting match.  The Martlets’ dominance continued as Paige Herlihy '25, the strong defensive Midfielder, showcased her skills with a beautifully executed hit during a corner play, securing the second goal.  Left attack Kitty Olson '27 followed suit, displaying her prowess with a third goal, assisted by Center Midfielder Stella Spitz '27, wrapping up an impressive first half. As the second half commenced, the Martlets remained relentless. Paige Herlihy added to the tally with a powerful hit from outside the circle and brilliantly tipped in by Alex Musser '26 for goal number four. Helen Kennedy’s mesmerizing weaving through the defense resulted in the fifth goal, further solidifying the Martlet’s lead.  With just five minutes remaining, Lizzie Muir handled the ball down the field for a breakaway, securing goal number six. Although the Martlets dominated the match, Miss Porter’s managed to find the back of the net with just thirty seconds left on the clock, showing their perseverance, securing their only goal of the game.  In the end the Martlets emerged victorious with a final score of 6-1.
