Martlets Shutout Porter's

Westminster made the short trip to Farmington on a sunny, but warm afternoon to take on Miss Porter’s. From the opening whistle, the Martlets were ready to take charge, scoring just 34 seconds into the game. Olivia Emerson ’24 was the first to find the back of the net with the assist credited to Olivia Gordon ’24. The Martlets would score three more times in the opening quarter, with Lily Vincent ’25, Gordon, and Emerson all finding the back of the cage. Westminster continued to dominate the play as all players contributed to the day’s efforts. In the third quarter, Emerson and Gordon each added goals and Caroline Justicz ’26 closed out the scoring for the day. Kate Epke ’27, Gigi Filippetti ’26, and Pippa Jiranek ’26 all did a nice job getting touches on the forward line and Hadley Crowther ’25, Mana Shida ’25, Liza Merrill ’25, and Talia Ondy ’25 did a fantastic job all afternoon distributing the ball and connecting the forward and midfield lines while Margaret Dilks ‘24, Lucy Wainwright ‘25, and Catherine Knauf ‘27 all stepped into the midfield line for the afternoon. Cassie Goundrey ’24 and Hannah Maltby ’26 split time in the cage for Westminster. The Martlets return to action against Loomis under the lights on Hovey Field Friday evening.
