Martlets Tie Choate

The Martlets played with a lot of grit and grace! During the first half, Westminster had the upper hand, however Choate made it difficult for the strikers to take shots at the goal. As the game progressed, and the players got tired, Choate started making their way closer to Westminster's goal. Defense Gianna Monaco '27 stopped multiple passes from Choate successfully! Striker Schuyler Groves '26 scored the first goal of the game, putting Westminster in the lead. Not too late after Choate scored a goal, making it a tie. Midfielders Margaux Walter '27, Lexie Willis '26, and Esther Lee '26 left everything on the field, giving Choate a hard fight. The second half was equally tough, and the Martlets showed their teamwork and resilience as they stopped shots and players from getting past them, while attempting to score. Groves '26 did not slow down at any cost, dribbling the ball along the field. Defense Abby Cirelli '27 was key to defending the field during this half, completing successful passes, and giving the Martlets more chances to score. It was overall a tough game, which the Martlets played very gracefully.
