Martlets Fall to Taft

There were a few positives to take from this afternoon’s loss to Taft. The team kept their composure and maintained their work rate. Mark Yang ‘26 scored a good penalty and was dynamic throughout the match. Mark always looked to make something positive happen and showed some deft touches on the ball. Dylan Ness ‘26 spent the afternoon challenging for every ball and creating dangerous moments in attack. Dylan brings an intensity to every action, consistently making good decisions on and off the ball. Jeffrey Niu ‘26 made his debut in goal and showed good hands to save a Taft penalty. Jeff’s distribution will be a useful addition to the back line this year. This was a slightly depleted team we took to Taft, but the newcomers to the squad played in various positions not necessarily their own. There was a great deal to learn here and the team will be back in practice tomorrow and working hard.
