Martlets Fall to Miss Porter's

For the first time this season, the 3rds Girls’ Soccer team was able to put together some solid passing and put 3 goals into the net. After giving up two soft goals in the first 10 minutes of the half, the team locked down and was able to put up some defense. They headed into the half down 3-1. Carly Liebenthal ’23 was able to take a Sarah Rocchio ‘24 pass down the middle of the field and placed a great shot into the net for the lone first half goal. In the second half Westminster crept back into the game thanks to a Chandler Green ‘23 goal and Janet Kiburi ‘26 assist down the left side of the field. Though Miss Porter’s was able to put another goal in with 15 minutes left in the game, a Sarah Rocchio ‘24 shot deflected off of a Porter’s defender and into their own net to bring the score to 4-3, where it held until the end of the game. Elle Wilson ‘26, Sunshine Li ‘26 and Grace Doherty ’24 played solid defense in the second half to keep the game close. The team hopes to build on this offense as they head into a tough matchup against Suffield on Friday.
