Martlets Win on the Road

The Martlets took the long ride out to Pawling, NY to play a much improved T-P side. The game got off to a wild start as Coach Keough was issued a yellow card in the first minute for a Westminster player not being properly equipped. Luckily the game settled in and both teams got up and down the quick turf of the Pride. Heading into halftime the score was 0-0. The second half the Martlets were able to press and play a little faster than they did in the first half. A couple quality chances were turned away by the talented T-P keeper. In the 70th minute after a lot of quality runs Gabe Mays-Sanchez ‘23 would be sent in alone with the keeper and taken down from behind in the box. Lawrence Taylor ‘23 would step up and convert the PK for the 1-0 lead. Only 5 minutes later it would be Taylor again in the box off a Henry Warner ‘25 cross that would be placed in the back of the net for a 2-0 lead. Lots of hard work again today against the second all boy school match of the week, only one more to go this weekend against Avon. Theo Massie-Vereker ‘23 and Jaden Goodsell ‘23 were outstanding on the back line against TP top forward. The game ball would go to energy guy and Pawling native Jackson Raymond ‘24 for all his hard work in many different positions today. The team wrench would be awarded to Henry Warner for another outstanding game on the wing. Big shoutout to Parker Sinclair ‘23 for his 5th clean sheet of the season in net.
