Martlets Fall to Choate

The Wild Boars came to Simsbury and proves to be solid opponents. Squash is a game of maneuvering your opponent around the court to create opportunities, and Choate did that a little bit better in most of the matches. The exception was Maggie McCarthy ’23 at #7, a match she won handily, giving up 10 points. Ava Beckford ‘23 had a harder fought battle in the exhibition match, dropping the first game 9-11 but then winning 13-11, 12-10, and 11-5 for the moral victory. Westie Strawbridge ‘24 put in another gutsy performance at #4, winning the first game and keeping the others close, and Michaela Crabtree-Crowley ‘22 also lost a tightly contested 4-gamer at #2. On Saturday, we welcome Berkshire in the last game of this long home stand.
