Westminster Falls to Miss Porter's

Westminster hosted their only home dual meet of the season against Miss Porter’s School, to whom they fell 16-42. The Martlets, beset by injury and illness, ran with a leaner squad than usual. However, the race provided a perfect opportunity to send off the senior runners and allow the younger runners to share in the spotlight. Saskia Mattiko ‘23 trailed a few Porter’s runners and powered down the home straight away to place fifth overall. Alice Liu ‘23 was not far behind her––besting her time on the course by over a minute––and Carolyn Cheng ‘24 finished on Liu’s heels with a course PR by over 90 seconds. Elena Roselló Cuevas ‘23 and Grace Tyler ‘24 rounded out Westminster’s top five. The team is looking forward to the week ahead to heal and re-group. The varsity squad will travel to Williston Northampton next weekend for the Shaler Invitational.
