Westminster Shuts Out K-O

Westminster made the short trip to West Hartford to play the Wyverns of Kingswood Oxford on another beautiful fall day. From the first whistle, Westminster played hard, moved the ball confidently, and worked as a unit all over the field. McKenzie Bloom ‘23 opened the scoring six minutes into the game off an assist from Bennett Ghriskey ‘22. Olivia Fernandez ‘23 added to the lead just a few minutes later and Hadley Crowther ‘25 and Bloom put two more in before halftime. Westminster entered the second half looking to continue attacking in waves and supporting one another in their defensive efforts. Fernandez added another goal in the third quarter and Lily Vincent ‘25 capped the scoring late in the fourth quarter to bring the score to 6-0. Cassie Goundrey ‘24 and Avery Rodeheffer ‘25 teamed up in the cage to earn the shutout for Westminster. The Martlets return to work on Monday in preparation for a big matchup against Sacred Heart next Wednesday.
