Martlets Improve to 2-0

First Girls earned a second straight 6-1 win, this time over the Daisies of Miss Porter's. The girls earned 3-0 wins at Nos. 2 through 6, with particularly decisive wins by Lauren Way '20 at No. 5 and Clara Ekholm '20 at No. 6, both of whom gave up only two points. At the top and bottom of the ladder, the matches went to 3-1. At No. 7, Gemma Green '21 dropped her second game, but recovered for a strong win (3, (6), 7, 6). At No. 1, Ellie Bailey '21 had the opposite experience. After falling just short in a tight first game, she prevailed in an equally tight second one, but was unable to sustain the momentum and fell in four (9, (11), 7, 7). The girls will work on their all-around games as they prepare to host Tabor on Saturday.
