Martlets Pull Out a Close One

It was a beautiful day when the boys traveled to Pomfret, but with another match occurring at the same time, most of the action took place on the indoor courts. Things started well as the doubles point was secured on the strength of wins by Azat Mukhametkulov '19 and Carl Ekholm '19 at No.1 (8-5) and Ethan Na '19 and Grant McCargo '21 at No. 2 (8-3). Na, Ekholm and McCargo followed up and sealed the team win with straight set wins in singles at Nos. 2 (6-1, 7-6), 3 (6-1, 6-2) and 4 (6-4, 6-0), respectively. Pomfret took the remaining singles matches, but Scoobi Wilson '19 at No. 5, Scott Lee '20 at No. 6 and Keegan Bankoff '22 in exhibition all took their opponents to super tiebreakers.
